Lars Samuelson is director of the Nanometer Structure Consortium at Lund University, today the primary center for Nanoscience in Sweden. His research is directed towards new ways for formation of ideal one-dimensional nanowires, their physical properties, and applications of semiconductor nanowires in electronics, photonics and life-sciences. He has published about 400 papers in refereed journals and given about 200 invited/plenary talks at international conferences. He is Fellow of the Institute of Physics, FinstP, in the UK, Member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, KVA (Physics) as well as of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, IVA.
