The Australian Research Council Nanotechnology Network (ARCNN) will be holding an Early Career Researcher* (ECR) /Postgraduate Student Symposium in Canberra on 19th-20th of February 2009 at the Seminar Room at the Research School of Physical Sciences and Engineering, Building 60, which is situated at the end of Mills Road at the ANU. Please refer to map (grid reference B4). The aim of this symposium is to provide a forum where ECRs and Postgraduate Students working on nanotechnology research can present their work, meet other researchers and students, and interact with other research groups in Australia (within 5 years of award of Ph.D. degree).

Travel Support

ARCNN will be providing some travel support for ECRs and Postgraduate Students selected to speak at the Symposium on Nanotechnology. The travel support that will be provided is $500 for travel and accommodation,depending on the distance required to travel from home institutions to Canberra. Payment of funding will be made after the Symposium.Payment of funding support will be made as a reimbursement to the Institution(University) that incurs the initial costs. The institution is requested to issue a tax invoice to The Australian National University, attach copies of the original invoices/documentation of costs incurred, and send to ARCNN.

Symposium Registration

Attendance is open to all staff, postgraduate and undergraduate students at Australian research institutions (Universities, CSIRO, DSTO, etc.), however, preference will be given to ECRs, Postgraduate Students and ARCNN members. There will be no registration fee for attendance at the Symposium, however all participants are asked to register for catering purposes.
