Brief Bio

Dr Calum Drummond,
Chief Industrial Physics & Manufacturing and Materials Technology
BSc Hons (1st Class), PhD Phys Chem The University of Melbourne
Dr Drummond is one of CSIRO's leading material scientists, and has been a CSIRO scientist for 19 years. He is currently an ARC Federation Fellow in CSIRO Molecular and Health Technologies, and with the agreement of the ARC his fellowship will be on hold during his initial 18 month appointment as chief.
Prior to taking up his Federation Fellowship, Dr Drummond was Vice President Research at CAP-XX Ltd a company that designs and manufactures the world's most advanced super capacitors and remains Chair of its Scientific Advisory Board. He is a Professorial Fellow in Chemistry at The University of Melbourne, and Adjunct Professor in CHemistry at tThe University of Sydney, an Adjunct Professor in Chemical Engineering at The University of Queensland, and a Visiting Fellow in Applied Mathematics at The Australian National University.
Dr Drummond is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute. Dr Drummond has a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours in both CHemistry and Science Education. He received his Doctorate in Physical Chemistry from the University of Melbourne in 1987.
