Things To Do

Pre or Post Conference Activities

Queensland is one of the most diverse Australian states ranging from the lush tropical regions of its far north and sub-tropical regions of the south to the vast outback and desert areas.

One of the most famous and magnificent of Queensland's natural attractions is the Great Barrier Reef, a range of coral reefs, bays and islands stretching 2,300 km along the Queensland coast. The Barrier Reef with its associated islands is one of Australia's most popular areas for recreational boating, diving, snorkelling and resort activities.

Just one hour's drive from the city of Brisbane, you will discover the lush country hinterland, mountains and forests of South East Queensland and the blue waters and white sandy beaches of the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast.

Brisbane, Australias fastest-growing city is the capital of Queensland, a region rich in world-class beach, river, rainforest and mountain experiences. This attractive citys skyline mixes streamlined glass towers with smaller historical buildings made of sandstone. Pavement cafes, parks and tree-lined streets, together with a large city botanical garden pleasantly enhance the city buildings. In close proximity to the Congress venue, the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, is Brisbane's Cultural Centre, comprising the Queensland Museum, Queensland Art Gallery and State Library as well as three performing arts venues.
